Michi works on her own. no.22

Today Michi seemed very glad when she came. I was just reading the latest edition of our local paper.
- Do they write anything about the robbery? Michi asked.
- Yes I said, and today there is a map showing where the guards were located during the robbery.
- Oh Laila, will you please show me where they were?
- Yes Michi, look, here you can see it.
- No, put your necklace on and show me for real, she said.
- Why?
- Because I need to see in what area I have to search for the money, she answered.
- Michi that isn't your responsibility, besides you won't find the money now. They are gone with the wind for sure.
- Please Laila, she was begging me.
- Well okay then, lets do it.
It didn't take long to show her the spots and she told me to go back home. She herself would follow in a while. But at the moment she would have a closer look at the area within the guard points.
When she returned she was even more determined to find the money. She probably felt a bit guilty, even though I've told her several times not to feel guilt.
- Laila I can find the money, I'm sure I can.
- Why do you think that?
- Well, none of the guards could see anything special that day so I think the money is still here.
- Michi the guards didn't get any signal to look for, the robbers might easily have passed them without being noticed.
- Anyway, I'll search for the money.
Okay I answered, but be careful.
She went upstairs to be alone for a while and I continued what I was doing, reading the paper.
I must have fallen asleep cause the phone did wake me up. It was Mr. Darkland calling.
- What can I do for you Mr. Darkland? I asked him.
- Well Mrs. Jensen, I want you to keep that girl out of my business and out of my sight. I don't want her interference ever again!
- officer, I can't promise you that. Right now she's very determined to find the stolen money. My impression is that she feel, in some way or other, that the money are still in our area.
- Officer, hello hello are you there? He hung up, he actually hung up?!!
Poor man, he's got a lot of trouble and now he throws the blame on Michi. That's unfair, as Michi would have said. I have to talk to her so I'm going upstairs to do so but she's not there. Oh well, probably out "flying" again.
Several hours later she returned as dirty as I never saw her before.
- Michi what have you been up to?
- I've been round and about she answered.
- Did you see anything interesting then? I asked her.
- Yes a lot of things. Laila why do people treat each other so badly? Why don't they help each other instead of irritating one another? I saw a man kill a cat, and he deserve to be scared one day, I'll remember that!! And Laila, I saw a man looking for food in a garbage can. I tried to be nice to him but he asked me to leave him.
- Michi you have to be careful. Mr. Darkland called me today and told me to keep you out of his business.
- HAH, I don't care what he says.
Ooops she's in a bad mood, better talk about something else.
- Michi I think we'll have to put you in the bathtub. You look as dirty as I don't know what.
- YES!! Can we do it now?
- At once.
She calmed down after bathing so I took a chance talking to her again.
- Michi you should pay attention to what Mr. Darkland says.
- Why, he's not able to find the money. If I don't help him he'll never find them.
- Well, you don't know that Michi and that is not a nice thing to say.
She turned against me, looked me straight into my eyes and said
- Can you tell me what he has achieved on his own?
- Well we don...
- NOT a single thing, all he has been doing is to mess things up. Laila don't you see, if I don't help him EVERYTHING is going to be a mess.
- Oh Michi I don't know, you and him together, you know...
- Don't worry Laila I'll be careful and I shall avoid him as much as I can.
- Okay then I'll have to trust you on that Michi, but I don't like this. He was so upset today and no doubt he gave me orders to keep you away from him and his work.
Michi got dressed and we went down to the kitchen to find something to eat. Afterwards Michi left for the dew.
The next day she came to me a while before lunch.
- Laila, the weather is so nice today can we please bring the food and have picnic in The Citypark? We can bring a blanket too and really enjoy ourselves.
- Yes, perhaps we should, the weather really is very nice today.
- Yes, she said yes, yes, yes, Michi was dancing and filled with happiness.
I filled my basket and we left for The Citypark. This park is in use every day by a lot of people so we had to find a nice place. Michi lead the way and selected our spot. She pointed at a place a bit above the pathway and said:
- There Laila there I want to spread our blanket.
- But Michi, there is just mold here. Can't we find a better place?
- No, I want to stay here, you can wash the blanket afterwards, she said.
- Okay then, lets stop here.
We ate and enjoyed ourselves in spite of the mold and Michi had much fun commenting on people that passed by. Nothing negative but a nice colourful jacket, nice hair, cute dog and such things.
When we were ready to leave Michi said
- Oh now I understand that's the way it is.
- What are you talking about now Michi?
- Laila I have to look into something, does it bother you to go on your own back home?
- No it doesn't but what is it you are up to?
- I'll tell you later, she said and disappeared.

Michi and the bank robbery. no.21

Michi was right. Some days later we had the very first bank robbery in our county.
Officer Darkland really had taken Michis information seriously and was prepared to his fingertips.

Michi went back to the bank two days later to catch some more information, and she got what officer Darkland needed to be well prepared.
Michi heard them plan the whole thing and how many people who was involved, so the police had good chances.

On the actual day officer Darkland had all his officers occupied. Some of them in the bank and others outside. I'm certain he organiced it all as his duty demands.

Nevertheless it all ended up as a big disaster.
It wasn't "my" bank that was robbed, but a bank a couple of blocks away. The whole police force was concentrating at the wrong bank.
The robbers successfully left with an outcome very close to 20 million NKR and didn't even hear of the police.

Officer Darkland, my goodness, reacted like a child. He came right to our door claiming that Michi was doing it on purpose, just to make him look like a fool.
The two of them had a real quarrel and their relationship got even worse. Michi was really upset because of the failure but she had not heard them mention any specific bank and she assumed that "my" bank was the one to be robbed.

Our local paper did slaughter the whole police force in big letters, and officer Darkland wasn't exactly touched by silk gloves.
What I didn't like was that the journalist did question the whole operation, what information did the police have and from where did they get it.
The next days will show whether officer Darkland keeps his tounge or not. I hope he will.

The police had guards at every road that lead out of the city and nobody had observed anything special, so the robbers are still out there and there have been no sight of them.

Michi says that she will find the money but I doubt it. I'm sure the money are out of the country already, besides it's not her job to find the money. Lets wait and see what the next days brings.

Making teddy bears.

Time to start bloging again. I've had a long and busy summer and have not payed my blog any attention for a long time now.
I've been doing different forms of crafting and my latest project is making my own teddy bears. The first one is ready and during making it I learned a lot of things. Now I'm making another one. It's very cool to make them and fun to make some clothes for them too. This next one will be totally hand sewn and I can't wait to see him/her.
My first one turned out to be miss. Hamre and she is a cute little girl.
I am thinking of making her a suitcase and fill it with clothes. ( not sure though)
Several days later I've finished off the next one and see that I have to change the pattern a bit. This one is 50% bigger than the first one and there is something to change I can see. I'll show you some pictures.
The white is the smallest one and the very first I made.

This is Miss Hamre.

This is the second one and he has no name yet.

Both of them together to show you the size differens. Miss Hamre is 20 centimeters high and the other one is 30.

Sandra is making a simple outfit.

This late winter Sandra asked me if she could make herself an easy outfit, and we agreed on a skirt and a headscarf. I had a light blue fleece blanket she had fallen in love with so we decided on that.
As usual I cut the stuff out and showed her how to do the sewing. I sewed the zipper in the skirt, as I see it it's not wise to scare her off by letting her do very difficult things to start with.

When she was finished sewing we decided to decorate her outfit with some small buttons I had. On her skirt she chose a little dog and a dog bone. ( She has a dog like this at home)
The headscarf got a bunch of different pink buttons accordingly to Sandras wishes.
I think her outfit came out very sweet and she decided to wear it the rest of the day.

Later on she made her mother an apron too. Her mother was going to celebrate her own birthday and Sandra wanted to make her a nice present. In this very moment I know that Sandra has got orders for even three more aprons. She is ready for making her own money, isn't that something for a seven year old girl??

Thursday, June 24, 2010

Sandra is just 7 years old.

This winter I decided to show Sandra how to use a sewing machine. She impressed me by learning it very quick.

In beforehand I had made several different sheets of paper for her to sew on. Straight lines, lines connected by curves, lines with squared connections and a sheet with free forms. This is a very smart way to learn where to start and stop when to turn and the other things one have to know about. She was so consentrated, it was pure joy.

We had to pause every now and then so that her neck and shoulders could have a break. The very first thing we did was to buy her a suitable table and her very own sewing chair. I told her how important it is to have the right equipment, especially tabel (hight) and chair (right sitting position)
It took some time till she got used to the chair, and even now I have to remind her every now and then of how to sit properly.

I'll never forget the first weekend we did this. She was so eager to start and mornings she woke as early as the birds. I had told her that she was allowed to work on her own and she certainly did.
Her final result you can see in the last picture. She sewed it on her own, the only things I did was to cut it out and I did iron the edges. The heart on her pocket I made as well.

Isn't she a clever girl?

Michi a joyful day and a bit more. no. 20

The next morning officer Darkland called me and asked me to meet him at his office. I promised to come and we agreed to meet at one o'clock.
When seated in his office he seemed a bit uncertain what to say to me.
- Mrs. Jensen, he said it was a terrible day yesterday. What a pity we didn't find that girl earlier.
- Yes it's so sad I said, and Michi was totally devastated when she left me. She was convinced that she could have saved that girl if she only was given the opportunity.
He looked down at his desk and was fiddling with some papers there.
- What was it you wanted to talk to me about officer, I asked him.
- Eh, eh that issue yesterday, your girl and everything he said.
- Are you going to contact any journalists in this matter, Mrs. Jensen?
- NO, no absolutely not officer , on the contrary I was hoping we had an agreement to keep things out of the public eye. As a matter of fact I did hope it could be just between the three of us.
- Very well Mam, that was just what I was thinking too.
- Oh, and this officer I almost forgot. I handed him the little jacket.
- Thank you Mam I'll bring it where it belongs.
- Well, that's all then Mam, have a nice day.
The policestation is located in the second floor in the same building as the grocery store, the yarn shop and some other shops so I went down to buy some yarn. When down the first one I met was Michi with an icecream in her hand.
- Hello Michi I said, where did you get that from?
She was all smiles.
- Mr. Reed gave it to me, she answered.
- Oh, did he now, did you thank him nice then?
- Yes Mam, she did Mr. Reed said coming towards me, Michi is a very polite little girl.
- That's good, I said but I can very well pay for the icecream Mr. Reed.
- Oh no, this one's on me he said and smiled. Have a nice day both of you, I'll have to work now.
- Thanks a lot Mr. Reed we both said. We went to the yarn shop and I bought what I needed and we left.
- Michi I have an errand in the bank, do you want to come with me? I asked her.
- Yes I will, she said.
Inside the bank I told her to sit down on a bench there and wait for me. It took a while before I was ready to leave and when I was I told Michi to come too.
She shushed me.?
- What's the matter Michi? I asked her.
- Hush, she repeated. She sat completely quiet and was staring out in the room.

She was just staring out in the room-

Suddenly she looked at me and said - Shall we go now?
- Yes Michi, what was that all about?
- Oh, it was nothing, she answered.
When we came back home I asked Michi if she had any wishes for the day and she answered:
- Yes I want us to do some fun stuff!
- What could that be then? I wondered.
- I would love flying with the birds today, she answered.
- it possible at all?? I asked her.
She had a good laugh and said:
- Come on Laila, you know it's possible.
- Put your necklace on and we'll have fun.
- Ok I said there's nothing here that have to be done today so lets do it.
- Laila just one thing, hold my hand all the time otherwise we can loos each other, and if we do just go back home and I'll do that too.
- You'll have to let me lead the way. Is that okay with you? she asked me.
- Yes it is, I said. I put my necklace on, sat down and held her hand. Suddenly I could see our house from a birds view. We were out in the air without a mission, just for fun.
Close to our property there is three very big spruces, growing so tight it seems there is only one treetop. Michi leads us to the treetop amongst a huge flight of starlings. I have always loved the birdsong but now it's just a terrible noise.
We are so close to them and they seem not to be aware of us.
As at a given signal all of them takes off at the same moment and we follow them. All the flight makes a wide turn and just before we're back in the treetop we make a very steep landing.
This is amazing, I feel like a bird and I'll never forget it.
Off we go again Michi and I. I can see the landscape far below us and now we are "landing" at a mountain top. Oh, I've been here several times, on foot that is.
- Laila, do you like it? Michi asks me.
- Michi can we talk?? She's laughing - yes we can, there is no one here to hear us.
Of course, I said, Michi this is the most fantastic thing I have ever done. And right in the middle of a flight of starlings. I felt like a bird.
- Laughing out loud now Michi says wasn't that fun Laila? That super quick take off and the similar landing.
- Well Michi I have to admit that I imagined a crash landing but you did well. And yes, it was awfully fun.
- Look Laila do you see that train way down there?
- Yes, it's quite nice to look at the whole landscape from up here. Michi I've been here several times together with my husband.
- Oh she said, Laila lets go sit on top of that train. We did and it felt weird. If anyone knew what I was doing right now they would believe I was crazy.
We left the train and Michi took us back home.
- Oh Michi what a wonderful experience, how lucky I am to have done this. Thank you, I couldn't have done it without you.
- Yes wasn't it fun?
- Yes indeed it was, and on top of that train I almost felt like a train robber. Just like in the old country and western films.
- Laila what is a robbery?
- Well to rob someone is to steal their things or money or both. And when someone does that it's called a robbery.
Oh like that time I took teddy?
- Yes and no. A robbery is more like if someone threatens you to give away your things or money.
- Did you understand that? I asked her.
- Yes I think so, to steal is to take something that doesn't belong to you when no one sees you. And a robbery is when the thief and the owner are both present and the owner get threatened to give away his things.
- Yes Michi something like that.
- Laila, someone are planning to rob your bank, Michi said.
- How can you say that Michi?
- I heard them plan it in the bank today.
- what are you telling me, who was it then?
- I didn't see them, I just heard their voices. That's why I couldn't leave when you told me to.
- Michi are you sure of this? It couldn't have been something you imagined?
- NO,I heard them. The last thing one of them said was "okay boys, last meeting in 2 days. Same time same place."
- Michi I think we ought to tell this to officer Darkland.
- Oh no, do we have to?
- Yes I think we have. I'll try to call him up at once.
- Officer Darkland, I heard him say.
- Good afternoon Mr. Darkland this is Mrs. Jensen calling.
- What can I do for you Mrs. Jensen?
- Officer Darkland, Michi has some information I think you ought to know. Do you have time to meet us at your office at once? It won't take long.
- Can't it wait untill tomorrow? it's past closing time here.
- No I really don't think so officer.
- Ok come on then, he said a bit irritated.
When there Michi told him what she had been telling me and ended to say:
- And they are going to have their last meeting in two days Mr. officer.
Officer Darkland looked at me and asked me - Do you trust this Mrs. Jensen??
- I've had no reason to doubt her earlier so I thought the best thing was to tell you about it. Now it's done and the rest is up to you officer.
- Well then, have a nice evening both of you he said and showed us the way out.
When we came out Michi asked me
- Laila what is he going to do?
- I don't know Michi, it's out of our hands now.
When back home we made ourselves a rhubarb pie which we ate before Michi had to leave.

A terrible mistake. no.19

The next days I had to think of all that had happen in my life the last year. Michi coming out of the dew and all she represent. I wonder why she chose me to come to. How could she know that I would catch sight of her in our conservatory that evening. We haven't been talking about that Michi and I.
She has told me that there are a lot of children in the dew, what about all of them? What do they do in the dew, or are they all living lives in our world? I have to ask Michi all these things one day.
I also think of Mr. Darkland, I'm glad he could bare my scary behaviour. I'm still not sure it was a wise thing to do, but it's too late to regret it now. At least I gave him some flowers and thanked him for doing a good job perhaps that eased things up a bit for him.
This morning Michi came very early and she seemed outworn. I gave her some breakfast and then she asked me if she could have a nap before doing anything else. Of course she could but I had to ask her if she didn't feel well.
- Yes she said, I'm just so tired.
- Don't you sleep well in the dew? I asked her.
- These are hard times but Laila can we talk later, now I just want to sleep?
- Of course we can I said just go sleep for a while. And she went to the attic to sleep in Sandras bed.
I continued the usual housekeeping stuff and was worrying about her. What could be the matter with her, and " hard times" what does that mean?
When I had finished my work I sat down to read some news on my computer. Our local paper have their own site there and that's one of my favourites.
Just half an hour ago they published an article about some parents that woke up and didn't find their 2 year old daughter in her bed. They couldn't find her any place so they had called the police to tell she was missing. Now our local paper encouraged people to have their eyes open and report anything that could help finding the girl. Poor parents that must be a horrible shock. I hope she turns up very soon.
I couldn't stop worrying about Michi so I had to go upstairs to see if she was alright. When I entered the room she opened her eyes and said
- Hi now I've slept can I have a glass of water, please?
- Yes you can but Michi I didn't mean to wake you up. I'm sorry if I did that.
- No you didn't. I want to come down now. After a glass of water we sat down in the livingroom and I asked her:
- Michi what does hard times mean to you?
- I hate summer, she said.
- How can you say that, summer is the very best time of year, I said.
No, it's not Laila you know in summertime there are much less dew, and that's a problem. We have to gather a lot of dew you know.
- No I don't know I said why do you have to do that?
- We live in and from the dew you know that. In summertime all the dew we can find comes in to being in very early mornings and late evenings. That way there's not much time for sleeping. And that's why I was so tired this morning.
- Can't you sleep during the day then? I asked her.
- The smallest ones does but the rest of us are needed in the handling of the dew. They are hard times summertimes.
- Oh Michi, is there anything I can do to help you?
- No there's not she said.
We didn't speak for a while and I was thinking of what she had told me. She looked a bit sad and my heart was aching for her.
- Michi I have a great idea, why don't you stay with me all summer? That way you could have all you need the whole time.
- I would love to but I can't, I have to help out in the dew. But every now and then I have a day off to come visit you. The Mistress allows me to, she's so glad you found me.
- Oh, I was thinking of asking you about that earlier this morning.
- Michi how could you know that I would see you in the dew that evening?
- I didn't know that, I had been there a lot of times without anyone seeing me. And even if you saw me I couldn't be sure that you would let me live, but I'm awfully glad you did.
- All of us in the dew are trying all the time but there are very few people that let us live like you do, besides there are not many places left that gather enough dew to show up in. If you only knew how many car windows we've used but people don't see us.
- Michi does that mean that more children will come to our conservatory?
- No, that's my place now since you let me live, all the others will stay away from that place. You know, they almost take part of my living when I'm back and telling of my experiences. That way they learn about life too. But of course most of all they would like to live their own lifes.
- I'm so sorry for that I said, if only people knew that you were there it would have been easier for you.
- Yes it would, and now that you're telling this story people get a chance to know about us. Perhaps someone will start looking for us. She smiled now.
- I'm very special in the dew since you let me live a full life, most of those who have come to live here just live imaginary lifes. She looked at me and said,
- Laila that day you drew me for the first time I could hardly believe it. I was so exited, but the Mistress told me to calm down because we couldn't know if you just drew an image of what you saw.
- And for several weeks it looked like it was just what you had done. I was so dissapointed, but then one day you drew me again and the rest is history.
- You gave me an opportunity to full life and I'm so greatful for that.
- Oh I didn't know it's so difficult, there can't be many of you in full life?
- No there's not. This happens once every 10th. year or so but now we have good faith in my life. Perhaps I can help another child to full life through your story.
- Yes lets hope so, I said, you know Michi when we say " to be at the right place in the right moment" that expression get a whole new meaning to me now.
- Oh, she said but Laila are we going to talk the whole day? can we do something now?
- Well, what do you want to do then?
- I would love to pay Tom Baker a visit and tell him about teddy.
- Ok I answered I'll have to to pay the grocery store a visit so that's ok with me. We'll take my car and then I'll let you off down town. When I'm finished I'll come pick you up. Does that sound ok?
- Yes it's fine with me, she answered.
When I let her off I asked her to say hello to Tom Baker from me and she promised to do that. I drew off to do my errands. The grocery store were full of people so I had to queue up to get my stuff paid. To wait in line always make me feel that the time stand still, I really hate it.
At last it was my turn, I paid, gathered my groceries and left for my car.
Time to go find Michi. I parked outside the toy store and went inside to say hello to Tom Baker. Michi came towards me in a hurry and said,
- Laila, a little girl is missing from her home.
- Yes I read about that this morning, isn't she found yet?
- No, still not found Tom Baker said.
- Poor parents it must be a nightmare to them, I said.
- Michi are you ready to go home?
- Yes she said, goodbye Tom see you!
- Goodbye Michi nice of you to visit me, he answered. In the car Michi said to me
- Laila we can help finding that little girl. Lets go to Mr. officer and tell him.
- How can we help? I asked
- If I could have something that belongs to the girl it would be easy to find her, but you'll have to come too because I couldn't tell where I found her.
- Please Laila, lets go tell him that we can help.
- Ok, lets try I said.
- At the police station there were a lot of people and a high level of activity. I asked for officer Darkland and he came to meet us.
- Mr. officer, Michi said I can help you find that little girl.
- Well now, so that you can do, he said. How can you believe you can find her when all of us can't?
- I only need something that belongs to her, Michi answered.
- I have not got time for this nonsens, he said and turned away from us.
- Mr. Darkland, I said you know where to find us if you need any help.
- Yes Mam he said and was gone.
We left for home and Michi was silent all the way. When home she was so frustrated she started to cry.

- Laila that little girl can die, why won't he let me help? He so unfair!!
- Michi you know that most people don't know that abilities like yours exist. They all think it's nonsens. It's scary to even think they could exist. That's why he won't let you help. He sees it as a waste of time.
- But she can die, Laila.
- That's why officer Darkland was in a hurry, I told her. He knows where to find us Michi, we'll just have to wait and see. Let us hope they find her very soon.
- Do you want me to read you a story?
- No I will go upstairs and talk to teddy she said and left.
I could see she was upset but there's nothing to do but wait and see.
I prepared our dinner and when my husband was home we ate. Michi was even more frustrated because she had been trying to search for the girl without any result.
- I can't find her without having something that belongs to her, she said.
- Well Michi we don't have anything of that kind here, I had to say.
- Laila can you please make a phonecall to Mr. officer and ask him again?
- Do you think I should?
- Yes!! please do.
Ok, I'll try.
It was officer Darkland himself that answered the phone.
- Good afternoon officer, this is Mrs. Jensen calling. Have you found the little girl yet?
- No he said.
- What harm could it do to let Michi have a try? I asked him.
- Well as a matter of fact I was just thinking of that, he said.
- Good Mr. Darkland remember Michi need something that belongs to the girl, and Mr. Darkland if you could ask one of your officers to bring it to our house.
- I'll call you back on this number as soon as Michi has found her.
When I hung up Michi asked me to put my necklace on.
- We have to leave at once she said, OH I hope I can find her.
The officer came and Michi got a little jacket. I thanked him and he left. Michi sat down and I could see her squeezing the jacket for a little while.
- Laila come on, hurry up, she said.- Hold my hand and think of a pile of stones.
I did what she told me and at the next moment I could see the girl. I could see her home too not far from us. Ok Michi, back home I thought and we were.
Michi started to cry again and said
- She's dead Laila she's dead.
- No Michi we can't tell that for sure, calm down. I have to call Mr. Darkland at once. I called him and he answered the phone.
- Mr. Darkland I said she's not far from home. There is a small forest behind their barn and a hill further behind. Go to the top of that hill and follow the pathway a couple of hundred yards then you'll get a big pile of stones on your left hand side. She's in that pile but it's difficult to catch sight of her. You 'll have to go round to the steep cliff side, she lies very near to the edge and the only things visible is her head and a bit of her arms. And Mr. Darkland, hurry up please.
- Thank you Mrs. Jensen I'll give my orders right away.
About an hour later Mr. Darkland called to tell they had found her and that Michi was right. The girl was dead.
It broke Michis heart when I told her she cried and said, oh no she's one of us now!
I could have saved her, I know I could. Why didn't he allow me to help??
I could have given whatever it took to comfort her but it was impossible. She was devastated when she left. It was hard to tell her goodbye this time.

Michi and I in trouble again. no.18

I was so glad when Michi came this morning. I have a lot of questions for her.
- Hi Laila, she said - have you tried your necklace yet?
- Yes I have but it's dangerous.
- No it's not, she answered.
- Well I forgot not to speak so I scared a man. That could have been dangerous.
- Oh, she said - but I told you not to speak.
- Yes you did but I forgot, besides I didn't know that I was invisible.
- Didn't you?
- Laila did you have any fun?
- Yes I did, it's so fun not opening the doors. I jumped back and forth a lot of times. She smiled a big smile and said - see, I knew you would love it.
- But Michi it's scary to go visiting.
- Why? she asked.
- Well you said you knew when it's improper but I don't know that.
- Oh, I'll tell you then.
- If you're in a good mood and feel happy you probably will have a good time, and if you can feel anger something wrong is going on. Sadness means that the person you think of most likely has a bad time and if you feel scared something terrible is happening.
- When you get more experience it's easier to differ it more accurately. The most important thing though is to sense your own feelings. Oh, and I almost forgot if you feel embarrassed it's improper to go visit. And just remember don't talk what so ever!!
- But Michi, I feel scared all the time I said to her.
- That's ok, she answered - it will soon disappear.
- Well, perhaps you should come with me one more time I asked her.
- Yes, put your necklace on and we'll go visiting.
At the same moment she said that my phone called and I had to answer it.
- Hello, Laila speaking
- Hello Mrs. Jensen this is police officer Darkland calling.
- What can I do for you officer Darkland?
- Well,do you have that little girl there?
- Yes she is here.
- Have you read the local paper today Mrs. Jensen?
- No, I've not. Is there anything special?
- Yes he said, there was a case down at the grocery store yesterday and I believe that that little girl of yours have something to tell me. Could you please bring her down to the station so I could ask her some questions?
- Well, if you think it's nessesary.
- Yes please, he said.
- Well officer, we'll see you in a little while then.
- Thank you and goodbye, he hung up.
-Oh Michi what to do now? It wasn't you - it was me!!
- Laila don't worry it wasn't me so let's go.
- Michi I can't lie to him.
- I know it's terribly wrong to lie but if you have to, you have to. You must NOT tell him about the necklace. It would be a disaster if he knew about it, besides he won't ask if you did it he believe it was me she said.
- Michi can you believe it, it's in the paper today. We have to be very careful from now on I said to her.
- Yes we have, come on let's go down town.
Officer Darkland was waiting for us at the desk, and he didn't look very pleased.
- Well, there you are he said while leading the way into his office.
- What on earth were you doing at the grocery store yesterday?? he snarled at Michi.
- I haven't been there she answered.
- Oh yes you were he said.
- NO, I WAS NOT!!! Michi yelled at him.
- Constable take it easy I had to say to him - what's this all about?
- He grabbed the phone and did some talking and a few minutes later the shop manager came into the office.
- Well Mr. Reed there she is, officer Darkland said while pointing at Michi.
- That little girl? Mr. Reed said - no... no I don't think so.
- Oh yes, this is the one! the officer said.
- NO I WAS NOT THERE!! Michi was staring him right into his face while shouting.

- Michi calm down, I said and took her hand.
- No Mr. Darkland that's impossible Mr. Reed said she's far too small. The basket was this high up and the handle above that again so you can see for yourself that it's impossible.
- Well then, you watch out young lady I'll keep an eye on you, the officer said.

- Thank you Mr. Reed for solving this problem for us. I'm very greatful I said.
- You're welcome Mam, he turned to Michi and said to her - and you little girl come visit the store and I'll give you an icecream for this trouble.
She smiled that special smile of hers and said - thank you very much Mr. Reed I will. My name is Michi.
- Have a nice day Mr. Reed she said when we left the office.

On our way back home I asked her - Michi why are you being so upset every time you meet officer Darkland?
- Because he's so unfair. He knows nothing and he shouldn't be a police officer. He think he can do whatever he want to.......she became a bit giggly now, Laila it's you and me who can do that, not him she said.
When back home I had to start preparing our dinner so Michi was playing with teddy in the meanwhile.
When my husband came home from work we ate dinner all three of us. I had to clean the kitchen afterwords so I didn't know what Michi was doing. Suddenly she came running down from the attic in a hurry and said - Laila put your necklace on we are going on a visit.
I did what she told me and we sat down.
Michi said - Laila this is going to be scary so it's ok if you feel scared. Remember, don't talk and please hold my hand all the time.
Now think of Mr. Darkland she said and I felt scared and very uncomfortable.
The next moment we were at his place and he was really beating his wife. He seemed completely out of control and his wife was crying and begging him to stop.
I had to do something so I tried to get my voice to sound like mans voice when I said: Mister, will you stop that immediatley!!
I could feel Michi squeezing my hand. He turned around and I saw his anger disappear and fear came to his mind.
- What was that? he asked and now he started to shiver. He turned back to his wife and said , get out of here and don't come back tonight.
She left with their car and he pulled himself a drink. Michi and I left for home.
When home Michi said to me, - Laila that was smart but I almost started to laugh when you made that funny voice.
- I had to do something I said , do you think he recognised my voice?
- No I'm sure he didn't.
- Michi I don't feel comfortable with what we did, I'm not sure it was the right thing to do.
- But he was beating her, Michi said - at least we did something good for her.
- Yes, but I'll have to think this over.
- Ok and I'll have to leave now, it's late.
- Will I see you again soon then?
- Yes she said and smiled.
I couldn't stop thinking of Mr. Darkland. How much did I scare him and was he able to bear it?
Perhaps I should return to his place just to see how he's doing.
Yes I will. I put my necklace back on and sat down. When I started to think of him I could feel fear and I was scared, but I had to do this.
The next moment I was back at his place. He was scared, very scared but not drunk and that's a good thing.
I tried to change my voice again and said: Mister don't fear.
He grabbed a gun and pointed it all over the place.
- Where are you, he asked - come forward.
- Mister put your gun away, you don't need it.
- Where are you, he asked again.
- I'm all over the place I answered. He did actually put the gun away and then he asked me - Are you the Lord?
- Oh no, I said I'm just a helping hand you have nothing to fear from me, absolutely nothing remember that. I just want you to stop being violent to your wife, that's all.
- Go to sleep mister and relax, you've nothing to fear. I'll leave now.
When back home I put the necklace away and hoped that this had helped him.
The next morning I decided to go down town and buy him some flowers. I really hoped that he was back at work.
He was, and I gave him the flowers and told him that I appreciated his work and that I was sorry for all the trouble we had caused him. He was surprised and very glad and thanked me for the flowers.

Sandras trip to a top called Brusaknuten.

Friday the 4th. of june we took Sandra to a mountain walk. The wether was warm and the sun was shining. We really should do this more often and we had promised Sandra to do this for a long time now. Sandra was so exited and she really klimbed like a mountain goat. She was the one that traced the route so she was always ahead of us. This route was marked with red marks on stones as you can see in the first picture.

This next picture shows the wiew from the top. It's amazing, in the aera we live we have a long coastline and a lot of beaches. Further in from the coast we have norways best agriculture land, and even further in we have these beautiful mountains.
As you can see in the picture we are quite high up, in fact we are 430 meters above the ocean. Far down below you can see the forest.

The last picture shows some beautiful animals we met on our trip. Sandra was very happy to do this and she picked a big bouquet of flowers to bring back home. We all had a lovely time and we have to do this again.

My magic day without Michi. no.17

After my husband left for his job this morning I had to open the black box again. I took the necklace in my hands and felt its coolness. In fact it looks like a bunch of raindrops, the only difference is that they don't dissolve when touched.
Oh how much I want all of my friends to see and touch this but then again I can see it wouldn't be wise to talk about it. Someone could be tempted to "borrow" it.
What a pitty though, it's so uncommon.

Today it's almost black, it appears just like water in nature the colour changes in relation to the light.
I can't help start wondering if I could do it of my own. Could I really walk right through the door without opening it?
Should I have a go? YES,I'll try it!!
I put the necklace near to my skin and decides to try a door inside the house. That way there's nothing to fear what the neighbours are conserned.
Can I do it, will it work for me??
I have my doubts but here I go. And, banging right into the door.
OUCH!!! My goodness I could have broken my nose or my teeth. This isn't for grannies.
I have to sit down and think a bit. How is Michi doing this? Well, she just does it. Why didn't I ask her! She told me not to talk what so ever, and I didn't. But she always used to say " whatever I want to" perhaps that's it. I have to want to come out on the other side. One more try and that's it.
Looking at the door and wanting to be at the other side of it I...I...WOW I did it!!!
Now back in again...double WOW I really can do it!!!
I'm so exited I jumped several times back and forth through the door.
I had to sit down for a bit and thought, now perhaps I should pay someone a visit?
No, cool down and wait until Michi is back so I can ask her some advice. But I have to admit that this thrills me.
I try to relax while sitting and starts thinking that I have to go to the grocery store. Suddenly I'm there, how it happened I don't know but I'm here.
OK, then I can just as well get the job done so I pick me a basket and start picking the things I need.
People are staring at me and I try to smile but nobody smiles back. What's all this about? Well, I'll have to continue my job so I go further down the shop. People still staring and not smiling back to me.
The shop manager is coming towards me and not smiling as well. And he...he...he takes my basket and is ready to leave with it when I say: HEY...don't you see I,m using it?
He turns around and when I see his face I understand that something is awfully wrong. He's scared.
I'm invisible.
NO, no back home at once. Back home NOW!!!
Back home I breath like an elephant. Oh, what a disaster. Michis words are sounding in my head "don't talk what so ever". Sweet lord, I just did that. I could have scared him to death.
Put the necklace away. It's dangerous.
Well, the necklace itself isn't dangerous but I am wearing it.
Oh boy, this could have cost me a lot of trouble. The best thing to do is to take the car down town and see what's happening.

Michi and the necklace. no.16

The next time Michi came back I was busy making a new pair of trousers for myself. She was eager to try my sewing machine, but it's brand new and she is too small so I had to let her use the old one. She was a bit scared of the machine so we ended the work and went down to our livingroom. When down Michi said
- oh, I almost forgot this, here you are and she handed me a little box.
- What's this I asked her?
- It's the necklace, she answered.
- Oh let me see then I said and opened the box.
- Oh Michi how nice, I've never seen something like this. The necklace looked like a lot of raindrops glued together. I couldn't see anything that held them together. And they felt like very small balloons filled with water.
- Is it possible to use it? I asked her, won't it break very easily?
- No, this time I've made it strong enough Michi said.
- I can't wait to show it to my friends, I said it's so beautiful.
- Eh Laila, it's just for you Michi said and then she asked me - Laila will you read me a story from the teddy book?
- Yes go find it and I'll read to you.
After a sweet story Michi asked me whether I would like to try my necklace. I put it on and had to admire it in a mirror but I could see that the colour had changed.
- Michi I said the colour has changed, why did it do that?
- That's because of the light she answered it can have several different colours, but Laila you'll have to wear it near to your skin.
- Why, nobody will be able to see it then?
- It's not for the others, it's for you!
- Would you like to try it? she asked me again.
- ?? Well I have it on now don't you see?
- Yes, but would you like to try it?

It looked like raindrops.

- What do you mean?
- Put it under your sweather and take my hand, she said. I did what she told me and we went to the front door. All of a sudden Michi disappeared through the door holding my hand, and before I knew it I was outside too. The door had not been touched. I probably looked like I just had fallen down from the moon because Michi started to laugh and was not able to stop for a long time.
- Michi I said what happened?
- It's your necklace she said.
- Come Laila let's sit down at the garden bench.
- I had to ask her - Michi does this necklace make me able to disappear just like you?
- Yes, she was nodding her head and smiled her big fat smile as she answered.
- She must have seen my fear for she took my hand and said, - Laila there's nothing to fear don't be afraid.
- I'll show you one more thing she said, hold my hand and don't speak what so ever. Now you'll have to think of Mr.BIL ( she told me his exact name but here I'll use these letters.) and I'll think of him too. And remember don't speak.
- The next I know was that I was in Mr.BIL's livingroom. He was just watering his plants. And the next moment we were back on my garden bench.
- Michi I said this is impossible, how could you do that?
- I wanted you to have the same possibilities as I have so I made you this necklace.
- Michi, don't you see that it can be very improper to visit people this way?
- I know when it's improper and then I don't do it. And you'll be able to feel it too.
- Michi, I don't think I can accept this necklace. I can never use it like it was ment to.
- Oh Laila, you'll love it I know you will!!
- When you're not wearing it, you just store it in the box and take good care of it. It's just yours so don't tell anyone of it.
- Michi, how do you know Mr.BIL?
- He's a friend of you and Mr. J (my husband), she smiled.
- Yes he is, but how did you know that?
- I knew,she said.
- Laila, I was at his place yesterday when he was having a nap at his couch. He had turned his laptop off and I turned it back on. Now she started to giggle. - Michi you can harm people by doing such things, people can be really scared.
- I know but he was sleeping and I wanted to pull him a joke.
- Well now I'll have to go inside and lay down for a while this has been too much to me.
- OK, she said I'll leave then but I'll soon be back.

Michi at the police station no. 15.

- Michi you were brave at the police station, I said to her, I'm very proud of you.
- I was very scared, she said.
- Yes I could see that and I,m very glad you stayed with me all the time.
- When we're finished here I want to give you a special treat for being so brave today.
- Oh,what then, she asked?
- Well wait and see. I was thinking about buying her the big teddy bear as a gift. She hurried up and soon we were out in the streets again. We went towards the toy store and I asked her
- Michi would you like me to buy you the big teddy bear?
- Oh yes I love him, but Laila, can I wait outside while you are buying him?
- No Michi you have to come too, there's nothing to fear.
- Ok, she said and I could trace some unwillingness with her.
It was the shop owner himself that greeted us when we came inside.
- Hello, he said to Michi, what's your name?
- Michi, she said.
- Oh, that's a cute name for a cute girl he said while smiling. - my name is Tom Baker
- Oh, Michi looked at him and smiled back.
- What can I do for you ladies today?
- Well we want to buy the big brown teddy bear I said.
- very well Mam he said would you like me to wrap him up? he asked Michi.
- No, thank you I'll take him as he is, Michi answered.
- Alright then but then you'll have to get this book with teddy stories too. And that's for free he said to Michi.
- Thank you very much she said.
- You're very welcome but then you'll have to pay me a visit next time you're down town so I can hear how teddy is behaving, he told her.
- Yes I will she said with a big fat smile on her face. I paid him and we left the shop.
- Tom is a kind man Michi said.
- Yes indeed he is.
- Next time I'll go and say hello to him Michi said.
- Yes, that you should do, I agreed.
When back home Michi played with teddy and the book. She looked at all the pictures and told teddy a lot of stories.
When she was ready to leave for the dew she wouldn't bring teddy for some reason. She promised to be back soon.

She told him lots of stories.

Michi at the police station. no.14

Michi came, as she had said, the next morning and we were preparing for our visit to the police station.
- Michi, will you please stay with me all the time while we are at the police station?
- Why?
- I don't want you to disappear, if officer Darkland frightens you just hold my hand. Don't disappear please.
- OK then she said.
- He is not allowed to harm you ,you know
- Mm, she answered a bit thoughtful. Quite obvious she didn't look forward to meet with officer Darkland.
- Don't be afraid Michi,it'll be alright.
Inside the police station we met a nice lady at the desk.
- Yes, can I help you?
- Yes please, we would like to talk to police officer Darkland.
- Just a moment and I'll check with him. She returned and asked us to sit down and wait since Mr. Darkland was a bit busy at the moment. So we sat down in some chairs there.
After some time that felt like a hundred years, he finally came to meet with us.
- Good morning Mam, Miss follow me please.
When seated in his office he excused himself and left us. A minute later he returned with two more officers and that surprised me so much that I didn't catch their names. I said a silent prayer that Michi would stay with me all the time while in here.
- Well Mam, I'm glad you brought this girl, what's her name?
- Ask her officer I said.
- What's your name girl, he more or less snapped at her.
- Michi, she answered while looking at the floor.
- Well Michi, can you show these men what you're able to do he asked her with a grin on his face.
- No, Michi answered still looking at the floor.
- Now Mr. Darkland what's this all about I asked him. I think Michi has something to tell you.
- Michi, tell him what you came to tell him I urged her.
She was nervous I could see but I saw her stubbornness too. She lifted her head and looked him right into his eyes and said
- I came to tell you I'm sorry for all the trouble I caused you and to say that I will not do it again.
- And I'm telling you to show these men your abilities, he repeated.
- NOO! Michi stood up from her chair and I was afraid she was going to disappear so I took her hand and begged her to sit down again, and fortunately she did.
I turned to the officer and said to him
- Listen Mr. Darkland, this little girl came to offer you her apologies which she now has done. Can you accept them or not??
- Yes Mam I accept it, he said.
- Well then I have an errand too you know, I wonder how much I owe to the shop owner. Have you spoken to him?
- Eh, eh there's nothing to pay, It came to no cost for him, Mam.
- Mam, I need you to confirm the girls abilities, he said to me.
- Mr. Darkland I said there's no need for me to confirm anything. You have, as you told me the other afternoon, all filmed and taped. So officers, If you'll excuse us, we very much want to leave now. And then we left.
When outside I asked Michi whether she would like some ice cream and she would.
We sat down in a cafe and enjoyed our ice cream.

Michi reveals some secrets. no.13

After breakfast Michi left for the dew. She would soon be back she said, and I had a lot to do the coming days. So one afternoon she was back.
- Laila, this is for you she said and gave me something that could remind me of a package.
- What is this I said, and I could see she was eager to unwrap it. Will you please unwrap for me, cause I don't have my glasses here? I asked her. And she would.
Suddenly she start crying - oh no it's ruined it was not strong enough, she said while crying.
- Michi let me see, perhaps I can fix it?
- No you can't she said and she was very upset.
- Let me have a look, and she gave it to me and I couldn't see anything.
- There is nothing here I said to her I can't see anything.
- No it's ruined, I did not make it strong enough.
- What was it then,I wondered?
- It was a special necklace I made for you while I was in the dew and i worked really hard to do it.
- Michi don't be upset it's good enough for me to know that you wanted me to have it. That was very kind of you.
- No, I'll make you a new one that is strong enough.
- Alright then, will you do it now at once?
Then she smiled and said - no i have to do it in the dew.
- Laila, I asked the Mistress about my parents and she don't know about them either.
- Who is the Mistress, Michi?
- ?? The Mistress is, is, I ask her about things and she decides everything.
- Oh I see so she is some kind of leader in the dew?
- Yes she is.
- Laila, I died when I was little.
- Michi you're not dead you're so full of life.
- Yes but all of us who live in the dew died when we were small children.
- Michi I don't understand this, if you're dead you're dead and then you can't be here alive.
- Since we were unable to experience the world while alive, we were given a second chance in the dew. That's the way it is, she said.
- Michi, what you tell me now confuses me but since you say so you're probably right. I'll have to think it over to understand it.
- OK.
- Laila, will you read something for me?
- Yes go pick a book and I'll read.
We were reading quite a while and Michi seemed to be tired so I asked her if she wanted to sleep the night here, but she would leave for the dew.
- But I'm coming back tomorrow, shall we go to Mr.officer then?
- Yes that we can do I said, we might as well get it over with.

Michi, and a long morning talk. no. 12

I opend the door and, as Michi had told me, police officer Darkland stood on our doorstep.
- Good morning, officer Darkland I said, what can I do for you?
- Good morning Mam, do you have that girl here?
- Well, yes she was here seconds ago but I think she has left now.
- Why do you think that?
- She got out of bed in a hurry and told me she had to leave because you were on your way to pay us a visit.
- How the hell did she know that?
- Now, you watch your tounge Mr. Darkland it's not necessary to swear. I don't know how she knew it, but she did, and now she has left.
- If you like you're welcome to come inside and have a look,I said. He did so and Michi WAS gone. I thanked him for turning up as a civilian, I really appreciated that.
- Well, when she shows up again you have to come down to the policestation with her.
- Why?
- Don't you see we can't have her running around beyond control?!
- And how do you think you'll control her?
- We have to find some sort of child care for her, she is far too small running around at her own.
- Mr. Darkland I said, she's not running around. What happend yesterday was because she lack some information.
- And all the alarms at the end,Mam???
- She was scared and I think you behaved a bit unfair to her. She lack information that's the problem, and I've promised myself to teach her all that I can to help her understand our world.
- And...I will not follow her to the station to leave her there, but I'll ask her to come so she can offer her appologies for what she did.
- Well Mam, I didn't find what I was looking for so I'll have to leave. And then he left.
Seconds later Michi was back again.
- I would love to have breakfast before I leave, she said.
- I love warm baguettes and strawberry jam.
- Oh Michi, I know you love them, that's why I made them this morning.
- Mm, she said.
- Laila, what does child care mean?
- It means a place where they take care of children. Children that have lost their parents or children that can't live together with their parents because the parents are unable to take care of the children. Something like that.
- Oh, she said.
- Michi, where are your parents?
- I don't know.
- Are they in the dew?
- No
- Who is in the dew?
- A lot of people she answered but Laila, why should I offer my apologies to Mr. officer?
- Do you know what it means to steal?
- No, but I did it yesterday you said.
- Yes you did, to steal is to take something that belongs to other people. The big teddybear was what you stole.
- But I returned it.
- Yes, but you shouldn't have taken it in the first place. People who are stealing we call thieves, and the police are there to take care of thieves amongst other things. - Do you understand that?
- Do you mean Mr. officer?
- Yes he is a policeman, and it's correct to call him police officer Darkland. When he's at work he is a police officer, that is his job. When not at work h
- He beats his wife, Michi said.
- Michi, that's not a nice thing to say!
- He's unfair, he beats his wife!!!
- How do you know that? I had to ask her.
- I know, she said.
- Well it seems you know a whole lot about people Michi. You should also know that it's not fair to talk about your knowledge to other than the person it is related to.
- And the Chairman of this county, do you know what he does? she said
- NO, and I don't want to know it either unless it's something nice.
- OK.
- Another thing Michi, when you got all the alarms running yesterday that was a very bad thing to do. The shop owners have to pay a lot of money because of that.
- Why??
- Because when an alarm is running a security company have to send some people to check it out and that cost a lot of money.
- Oh I didn't know that, I'm sorry.
- Do you think you would follow me to the policestation and offer your apologies to them too, and tell them you won't do it again?
- NOO!!! he's unfair.
- Michi, we can all be unfair from time to time and even if one person is unfair it won't give us any right to do bad things too.
- OK I'll do it, but you'll have to come too.
- Yes of course I will.

Michi in action, part two. no.11

- Now listen young lady you don't leave this place before I know what's going on, the officer said.
- Michi, where are the teddy? I asked because I couldn't see it.
- I've put it back in the window.
- YOU DID WHAT....the officer said, irritated to the edge now.
- Officer please, calm down I begged him.
- CALM DOWN, he said, how do I explain this, who will believe anything of this???
- Well officer, I'm awfully glad you said that. How do you think I felt like when I first came here?
- Nonsens, he said I'll have to take her to child care, she can't run around doing exactly what she want.
- Officer I can't deside for you, but the problem is that she don't know what it means to steal and she don't know what a policeman is either. I think the best thing is to let her come home with me and I'll talk to her about it. I'm sure it won't happen again.
- I'll leave you my adress and my number so you know where to find me. And if you please would speak to the shop owner about the costs of all this I'll come back tomorrow and pay for it all, and would you please keep my name out of this.
- Keep your name out of it?? That's impossible.
- Well, if you please don't go public about it, you see I don't want my property filled with journalists.
- Oh, I see but how do I do this, who will believe anything of it? he didn't ask me he was more like talking to himself.
- Well officer, I'm sure you will come up with something. Keep my name out of it and I'll support your story.
- Now Mam, watch your tounge we are both filmed and taped here so you don't have any other options than to support it.
- Yes of course officer, I answered.
- Laila, look what's this Michi asked me.
She stood there smiling with a gun in her hands. The officer lost himself completely. He yelled at her and appeared so frightingly that she probably was scared to death. Michi let go of the weapon and disappeared at once.
- Officer pull yourself together! I had to tell him. Now you have scared her so she won't be back. I think I'll leave now. You know where to find me.
- You have seen her abilities that's for sure.
At the same moment I was wishing him a nice evening we heard an alarm going, and another one and another one..... Oh no, dear Michi don't do this.

What is this?

On my way back home every shop I was passing had an alarm going. This isn't good but I could not help smiling. She would not tolerate unfairness.
Michi wasn't there when I came back home, so I told my husband the whole story and he agreed that this could mean a lot of trouble for us. We have to wait and see.
My husband and I took an early night and went to bed. I'm reading in a book and suddenly Michi is standing before me and begging to sleep in my bed this night.
- Yes, of course you can I said and make some space for her. I thought you had gone back to the dew. - No I want to be with you tonight she said. She was scared I could see. - So go to sleep now, you're safe here and we'll talk some more in the morning.
- Yes, she said.
After a little while she mumbled, Laila there is no film and no tape. And then she was sleeping.
The next morning my husband went to work and I was preparing breakfast for Michi and myself when she came down in a hurry.
- Laila, I have to leave now cause mister officer is coming, she said.
- How do you know that?
- I know it and I must leave.
- Oh Michi, I'm sorry will you be back soon?
She smiled and said - yes, very soon. And then I heard the doorbell...

Michi in action no.10

One quiet and warm evening Michi turned up again. She asked me to come for a walk.
As a matter of fact I had just mentioned for my husband that I would go for a walk so that suited me fine.
We went down town and I thought it could be a nice opportunity to show her the different shops there, we could kinda window shoping. The shops were all closed because it was past closing time so we were quite lonely in the streets.
I stopped at the handbag shop to look at their new collection. Michi stopped too and gave her comments on a few handbags before she crossed the street to have a look at the toy store. I told her to wait for me there.
The next moment I heard this alarm and when I turned around Michi stood there with a big teddybear in her arms.
- Michi I said where did you get that from?
- From the window, she said.
- Did you go right through the window ??
- Yes , she smiled, the bear would like me to take him back home.
Oh no, now I've got an explanation problem at my hands.
- Michi I said we have to go to the police and tell them what you have done.
- What is the police??

- Come on quick now, I didn't want to be there when the security people turned up.
To my luck we were not far away from the policestation.
Well inside I didn't know what to say.
- Can I help you, mam ?? someone said to me.
- Well, yes eh no eh eh .....
- Don't you feel well, he asked me?
How on earth do you tell a policeman that this little girl has magical power and where to say she live, in the dew??? Psychiatrist next, thats for sure. Oh boy...
- Do you have a place where we can sit down in private?
- Yes follow me please?
When seated I said to him - the story I am going to tell you now happend less than ten minutes ago so will you please take a phone call to the owner of the toy store and tell him that there is nothing broken and nothing to worry about.
- The burglar alarm is going in the shop and it was this little girl who started it.
- Just a moment, I'll call him at once, he said and left us.
- Michi I said, this isn't going to be easy. What you have done is not allowed. In fact you have been stealing and that is a very bad thing to do.
- What is stealing, she asked???
The police officer came back and told us that he had spoken to the owner so that's at least one problem less to think about.
- Well he said what exactly did you do? Looking at me and not the same friendly voice as earlier.
- Ehh.... I didn,t do anything and I did not actually see what she was doing either, but I know what she did.
- Well, tell me everything from the start, he said.
- Michi I said tell the officer what you did!
- The teddybear wanted me to take him back home, she said.
- Is this your daughter, he asked me? and what is her full name?
- Officer, this is a really complicated story, I think it's better to let her tell you all about it before you start writing.
- Well then young girl, can you tell me all about it?
- No, Michi said.
- Michi, you have to tell him otherwise we won't be able to leave this place.
She smiled one of these big fat smiles and probably she was thinking it's just to leave.
- Officer, this is hard for me to believe and even more difficult for you I suppose but this girl has magical power. There is no broken windows and no broken doors at the toy store. She simply slide right through the window.
- ??!!! Oh so that's what she did... he said and looked like he was going to loose his temper.
- Michi please SHOW him what you did, I desperately begged her.
- NO !!! she could sense his anger and that did not exactly help me now.
- Laila, can we go now she asked me?
- NO, you can not!! the officer answered her.
- I won't be here any longer she said cause you are angry.
And then she just disappeared. He looked at me like I was the one to blame for this.
- Well officer, that's what I'm talking about, that's the way she did it.
- It is impossible, he said, - yes as far as we know it is, I replied but never the less that's what she's doing.
- And, she's not my daughter I have no control over her.
- Where are her parents then, he asked me, and why is she with you?
- That's even more difficult to answer I said but I had no options but the truth.
So I told him about the dew and everything, and the more I told him the funnier he looked like. Perhaps he was trying to figure out how to get me in an ambulance.
- Laila, are you coming now? Michi was back again.

To be continued....

Do anyone of you who read this have an idea how to come out of this???
I'll be greatful for any suggestions.

Michi shows up at our national day, May 17 th. no.9

It was a big surprise to me when Michi showed up again at our national day. She has been gone for so long that I thought she was gone forever.
She even turned up in bunad. ( our national outfit) She wanted so much to participate in the childrens parade, she even had the flag in her hand. The flag wasn't correct so I don't know who gave it to her but I couldn't take it away from her.

I had to let her do so and my husband and I took place to watch the parade. She did well, sang along with all the other children and was cheering and all the stuff we usually do in our parades.
When the parades was over we went to our local school so that she could take part in the childrens play, and she also could buy herself some icecream and soft drinks.
Later on we prepared a family dinner and Michi disappeared again. I haven't seen her since.

Sandra has picnic in the garden.

This is Sandra playing in our garden. Sandra is the daughter of my husbands niece. Sandra lost her father a year and a half ago in an accident. She has three siblings and to help her mother we are four families who take care of one child each every third weekend. This helps their mother going on, and the children get other adults to connect to. And I have to say that the children are very likeable.

Sandra is the youngest one and the only girl so she has quite a position. But I don't feel she's spoiled in any way though.
My husband and I have a son (aged 25 this summer) so a girl in the house every now and then makes me thrilled.
On top of all Sandra like doing all the things I liked myself when I was a little girl. Lucky me am now "allowed" to do it all again.

Another creative day.

I've made these two so called "one piece" today and they were quite a challange. Easy enough to sew, but they shall be too large to the children. I'm most used to sew clothes that fits.
To the small one I made a waistband so that the poor girl will be able to walk when using it. The other girl is older and can better take care when using it. But, this is the way they are ment to be. I do not understand why but thats not important. Perhaps that shows my age better than anything else, snort.
I hope the girls will be happy though.

Two skirts to crochet if you like.

I crocheted this skirt last summer and I have used it a lot. You can find the pattern here if you like to try it yourself.
This colourful skirt is crocheted in cotton yarn and are lined with a quite heavy material to avoid "the saggy baggy butt" syndrome. I chose to have a zipper in one side and that works well.

This other one is slightly diferent. As you can see at the picture the lower edge is far wider but I decreased the width quite quick.
This gave me a thight skirt with a bell-shaped lower edge and it's quite nice.
This skirt is lined too. The colourful skirt I crocheted in two halves but the black and white one is done in the round.
Give it a try, it's not difficult and crochet in the round is better, at least there are far less ends to weave in at the end.

A carrier bag for a german friend.

I've spent the day making a carrier bag for a german friend who is visiting us these days. It is quite time consuming to sew one like this, but it's worth it. The bag is nice and proper done. Inside there is a pocket with a zipper and one for the cell phone. I also made a chain with a carbine hook to fasten the key in.
I have one of those myself and they are very practical.

As you can see at the pictures there is a big pocket on either side of the bag. Since they are outside the bag I have chosen to make a loop and use a button to lock them up.
I use mine when shoping, for hand luggage when traveling and when going to work.

They are easy to make but as I said time flies when making them.
Have a nice weekend.

Thursday, May 6, 2010

Haven't been bloging for a while now. I have been busy doing other things. Today have been a rather creative day though, I've made two give away cards and they turned out to be real good too. They're too private to show off so I'll perhaps make some to show you all.
Coming weekend will be a party weekend for us. Friday my mother is returning from Mallorca to stay here during summer. Saturday we'll celebrate a young man who now will be considered as a young adult, and Sunday my uncle is celebrating his 80'th birthday.
Then one week ahead we have our national day to celebrate, so it's really partytime these days. I wish you all the best.

Michi - the girl I do not know. no.8

Today Michi came back. She wanted to play outside, the wether was warm and the sun was shining. I was finishing some work when she came back in and asked me to come out too.
- Yes, I said, - when I'm finished with this I will come out too.
My work lasted a little longer than expected and suddenly Michi stood in front of me again. Nothing wrong with that, except, where did she come from?
I did not hear any doors opening. What was this?
- Michi, I asked, how did you come in?
- I came from outdoors, she answered.
- Yes,I know that, but how did you get in, I couldn't hear any doors?
- I came in from the back, she said.
- Well, as far as I know the back door is always locked up. Isn't it?
- I don't know, she said.
- But HOW could you get in through a locked door? Let us go and have a look.
The door was really locked up, and I had to ask her once more, - where exactly did you come from?
- From outside.
- Michi, will you please show me where you came in? And then she did something that got me paralysed, I just couldn't believe what was happening right in front of me.
She just disappeared right through the wall, and I could see her outside. I had to sit down, this isn't happening I thought and the next moment she stood in front of me again.
- Did you see it now? she asked just like nothing had happend.
- Michi, don't do this I said, it's completely impossible!!!
I was scared to death, confused and I could feel the anger on its way. Then she did something else that surprised me. She started to giggle and said, - Laila don't worry I'm from the dew you know.

She started to giggle.

- ??The dew, what has the dew to do with this?
- The old saying, ...can do whatever I want to....she said.
- Michi, this is too much to me I do not understand it. Will you, please, never do it again!!?
- Okay, I'll use the front door then, she said.
- Michi I need something to drink, will you find me a glass of water please?
- Yes I will.
I had to pull myself togheter while she was gone. Without thinking she accepts my demands so I'll have to try to accept her too.
When I was finished drinking, she was eager to get out again and we got out. I was still shivering but we didn't talk more about it.
We walked around in the garden and looked at the blooming flowers. She asked me their name and I was telling, over and over again so that she hopefully will remember it.
After a long while we sat down on the garden bench, and I had to ask her.
- Michi, the other afternoon when you were playing with Misty, you kept running to the wall and banging into it, why didn't you "go" through then?
- Cause I didn't want to, she said.
- Is it your will it depends on?
- What ever I WANT to....remember?
- Okay, I was just wondering I said and didn't want to discuss this any further.I had to think this over and did certainly not want to hear how far she is able to take this.
- Well Michi, I want to go inside now do you want to come too?
- No, I want to play with Misty some more, she answered.

An owl to start a new month.

This owl was quite a challenge. It could have been far better, but I learned some new things while painting it, and that's a good thing.
One more week and I've been bloging for a month. I don't think I've found my exact blog form yet, so I have to think a little more about that.
It's been fun though, and I've learnt a lot.
I have been painting a lot of birds lately and think perhaps it's time to try something else.

A lot of flowers are blooming in my garden just now,so perhaps they will be painted next. I'll see.
Some freeform crocheting is a possibility too. It seems I have a thinking job to do. Any suggestions from anyone out there?
I have a sewing job to do too, I 'm going to sew some onepices for some sweet girls in the family.
Well, right now I have to stop bloging and start some housekeeping dull stuff. Have a nice day.

A little sparrow.

Just a little post this time. I painted this sparrow today and did not feel too good about it, but I think at the end it's acceptable. Right now I'm working at an owl and it's quite difficult so we'll see whether I show it off.
Have a great weekend.

Some more cuties.

I have really fallen in love with my watercolours. They are easy to use,but of course the colour mixing is not easy. (as you can see.)
This first image is a lovely sunbird which makes me smile every time I see it. Unfortunatly it don't exist in my environments, so images of it is the closest I can get. Now when I have painted it, perhaps it could hang on my wall so that I could meet it every morning when out of bed.

The next one is a nice bird too. I'm quite satisfied with my result here even if it's not all correct. My bird turned out a little too "fat", compared to the image I used to draw it from. But, it's just me who can see that. This one don't live in my surroundings either.

This last one is pure fantasy. When studying it for a while, I could see a bird on his way home from the market.(you can see that can't you?) His expression looks like he has sold butter but didn't get any money. Can you see? Like he's saying: Oh no, not again...

I would love to hear your comment, so feel free to leave some.

Testing my new watercolours.

During the last days I've been testing my new watercolours. I can see that one needs a lot of practicing to become a worthy painter.
One have to know a lot about colours to achieve the right nuance when mixing the colours. (I only know a little of this.)
Not only do one mix two or several colours to gain a new one, but this new one can also be adjusted with more or less water. I guess this is a whole study for those who are really skilled.
For my own part I can say that I really enjoy doing this, and thats all. I'll show you some of my doings here. This first one is a Peregrine falcon. I drew it from a picture in one of my books about birds. It's not correct, but I'm quite satisfied after all.

The next one is a thrush, and I was not quite sure whether to show it off. I 've been talking about Geninne's art blog and I have been looking quite a lot into it so someone might think that I've been stealing her idea. But I have not. When studying in my book of birds, using a magnifying glass, this is the way it looks. The next thrush I paint I will do a little different though. The belly dots are Geninnes and I want my own twist on that. This one is also drawn from an image in my book. What you can't see in my picture, is a worm the thrush is going to eat.
My colours are, oh so far away from my wishes, but I will get to learn it.

Michi and " The Bridalstone". no.7

- Laila, what are we going to do today? Michi asked me one morning. The weather was cold and a bit rainy and we did not feel like going out. This kind of mornings are really good for storytelling so I offered her to tell her a story.
- Yes, she said I love stories.
- Michi, the story I'll tell you is a very very old story, and it is more like an old saying, or a myth or a legend. I'm not quite sure what to call it, perhaps something in between these three.
- What is a myth and a legend? she asked.
- They are stories, told over and over again, and there are not anyone who knows what really happened any more. But still they are told, over and over again.
- But why do you know the story? she asked me.
- Well, my father told it to me when I was a little girl, just like you, and now I'm telling you.
- Are you going to tell now? she could not wait to hear the story.
- Sit down then, and I will tell.
- Where my home was, when I grew up, we had a very big stone in our garden.
- How big was it then, she asked.
- It's still there, and I don't know exactly how big it is, but if one man stood on top of another mans shoulders, he still couldn't reach the top.
- WOW, thats big! she said.
- Yes, it's quite big, and that stone has a very special name too.
- Why, what's it called then? she asked.
- It's called "The Bridalstone" I said, and knew her next question before it was asked. I could see on her face that she imagined a stone full of brides.
- Why, - are there so many brides there?

She imagined a stone full of brides.

- No, there's not, but in very very old times people had faith in trolls and such things, have you heard of trolls? I asked her.
- Do you mean the trolls in the fairytales, she asked?
- Yes, that's what I meant.
- Didn't they know that trolls are only in fairytales, she asked.
- No, it was not a fairytale to them, they had faith in these things and behaved thereafter.
- What does that mean? she asked.
- Well, they took some precautions to avoid trolls and such things.
- I'll continue the story and I hope you'll understand then.
- When a bridal procession was on their way to church, they used to stop and take a rest next to this stone.
- Why did they do that? she asked.
- Because their way to church could be rather long and they had to pause, you know, there were no cars to run them in those days.
- Why wouldn't anyone like to drive them to church? she asked.
- It was not that nobody didn't want to drive them, but there were no cars. The car was not invented yet. People didn't know what a car was, I said.
- Oh....??? she said and looked like she couldn't quite understand this.
- Usually, it was not dangerous to pause there, because every bridal procession had two men with guns in front of the procession, and the same at the end. The gunmen fired their guns every now and then to scare off any trolls.
- Oh, she said a little bit scared.
- But on this particular day, that this story is about, the gunmen forgot firing their guns, and the trolls, one or several I don't know, caught the bride and disappeared. Nobody has ever seen that bride again.
- And that's why that stone is called "The Bridalstone" - because a bride disappeared right there.
- What about her boyfriend then? she asked.
- Well, this story does not tell anything about him. The story explains how that particular stone got its name.
- Oh ... she seemed a bit scared, and I could see she was thinking.
- This was back in really old times, you know, and nowadays people don't believe in such things.
- When I was little, we used to climb the stone and play around it. There's nothing scary about that stone.
- We can go have a look if you like, I said.
- Yes, do you know where it is?
- Yes, of course - it's my sister who owns the place now, and she is not allowed to remove the stone.
- Why not, Michi asked.
- It's because of that old story, and as long as anyone remembers it she will not be allowed to remove the stone.
- And, my dad gave the landowner his promise to never remove it. Besides, that stone is quite nice where it lies in the garden, just below the mountain.
- Can we go now? she asked.
- Don't you think we should wait until my sister is back from work, so we could pay her a visit too?
- YES, she almost shouted, cause her chocolate cake tastes sooo good!
- Well, thats for sure, "I said.
Later on we drove to my sisters place and Michi had a look at the stone. Before I knew she was sitting on top of it.
What I do know though, is that it's quite easy to climb the top, but far more difficult to come back down again. So I was preparing to help her down when my sister called out from a window,
- Anyone who want some chocolate cake?
- YES, " Michi answered back, Laila, will you please help me back down again?!

And finally she got some chocolate cake.
