A different weekend.

We drowe to a city called Flekkefjord.

Saturday we had a daytrip to Flekkefjord. To our surprise there was a festival going on and lots of people in town. The weather was sunny and very hot. We did enjoy the sunny day and walked the streets and baught a bit of this and that.

When it was time to return we chose another way back because we wanted Sandra to have seen a place called " Helleren" The road which passes Helleren is very steep and narrow. The photo below is a postcard showing Helleren. People lived in this house before and during World War 2.

My husband snapped a photo of Sandra and me in front of the houses.

Today we went to the beach to collect some flat rounded stones for me. I intend to crochet around them. I have not done that before so I look forward to try it.

Now it's time to bring Sandra back home.
Wish you all the best.

An owner for the little skirt.

Say hello to Constanse.

Constanse is my sisters oldest grandchild. Today they was visiting me and the skirt found it's owner. Constanse loves pink so it suited her well. She is such a lovely girl and all that almost white hair amazes me.
She has a little brother called Caspian and he is a stubborn one but very cute too.

Now I've completed my decluttering and it feels soooooo good. This weekend it's time for Sandra again and most likely we'll journal a bit. Well, it depends on Sandra and what she prefers to do.
I just wanted to show you how the skirt fitted the new owner.
Take care and enjoy your weekend.

Look what I got in my mailbox today.

I'm a member in Postcrossing and today this lovely card was in my mailbox.
It's from Belarus where a mother and her three year old son made it. I really love coffee and especially these days following the news we have made a lot of coffee.

I got my very own coffee train. Isn't that something? Look how nice they have used several different medias. The little boy was so exited to tan the card with coffee. I have to say it gave me a soft spot for that boy and his mom. Thanks a lot to both of them.

Yesterday I sold four of my bracelets too and was asked to leave them in commission at a friends yoga studio. I think I'll try it. Can't do any harm to try.

Otherwise I'm soon finished decluttering the whole house. Just a couple of rooms left upstairs. My home do look new all over and I told my husband the other day that it looks like we're moving. It feels good though and I really look forward to finish it all. My new studio has to wait untill then.

Wish you all the best.

My new studio.

Helloooo folks, I'm still alive.

I won't mention the last days happenings other than to say it's terrible. We're all in shock and we all feel the terrible loss of almost 90 youths and 10 adults. It's surreal. Well enough of that I thought I would show you my new studio. It's a tiny room with windows towards the garden.
Since we (my husband and I) are collectors you can see my royal plates hanging on the wall. There's one missing and that's Queen Maud. That one is very rare and difficult to get hold of. The lower left shows our present King Harald.

I just can't wait to start using my new place but we are doing a really big decluttering job here right now. I recon we're done tomorrow if nothing happens in the meantime.
The wedding gift I talked about in an earlier post have to wait a bit but I got a coushion done. What do you think? Could this one be part of a gift?

That's all for now, I just wanted to say hello ant that we're allright.
Wish you all the best.

Journaling with new pens.

Have you ever tried Uni Posca?

They are really good pens/markers. It took a while to get used to them because they have this very hard/stiff tip. I've been using some with a tip like a brush so the differens is huge. The Uni Poscas do cover everything, even a black background is covered by my pale pink pen. The more I use them the more I love them. They are really worth a try. On the right page I've used only Uni Posca.

The left page has a little poem asking some birds to bring nice weather. As you understand we do not have to water our garden this summer and that's fine. Neither do we have to cover ourself with sunblock and that's fine too. BUT.....

We are invited to a wedding later this summer so I'm thinking of making the couple some nice things. The mother of the bride gave me some ideas. Right now I'm sewing curtains to my sons second floor.
That's all for now, enjoy your summer.

I've been kind of lazy lately.

A little less creative.

I've been doing other things. We've had some beautiful summer days and I've been biking each morning for an hour and a half. My friend is visiting home again and we have had our daily meetings.
The other day I spent the whole day down town together with another friend of mine. We did some shopping and shared a nice lunch. The entire day the weather was so nice and warm. Really a special day.

And tomorrow Sandra is comeing again. Her mom is invited to a wedding and Sandra wanted to stay with us. So, this has really been a busy week but not that creative.

I promised to be back with a photo of my ruined page and here it is. Janet and Clare I should have followed your advice to continue layering but I had already covered up the background. The left page is the one. The right page I was trying to do some decoupage just to see if I could do it. It worked but what a mess, not my favorite so far. And the page became over the top romantic and sweet. Well, I've tried it and that's it.

My husband starts his vacation today and before he left work he was given a gold watch for his 25 years in the same company. Nice start to his vacation.
That's all for now, I wish you all the best.

Still painting.

It's fun.

But today I ruined a page which I was very pleased with. Well, I note it on the account for learning. That's the easiest way to handlle it. Do you often experience that, or are you too familiare to the tecknique to do such things any more?
Probably not, I recon that will happen from time to time as long as I'm doing this.

I saw a little you-tube film this morning and that's why I ruined my page. The film showed someone painting a face. When I thought the face was finished the girl started painting over it again???!!? The result was amazing and the girl was very skilled. I was not painting a face, but doing a background. With the film in mind I started to layer my page. Over and over again and to my surprise it became nice. (In my opinion) Then I did the mistake, I put another layer on top and that ruied it. After that I did several stupid things so my page..... well it's still there in my journal. Unfortunately I have no photo to show it off today but I promise to do so.

Instead I'll show you a drawing I did way back. The upper ball is good enough but the lower one was ment to be a glassball with a rope around it. The rope which lies in front has a shadow but the colours should be turned around.
The colour in front seems a bit dusty whilst the "back" colour is clearer.

I made this spread this weekend. The left page has a background far too busy but now I've learned something from that. From now on I'll try to build the backgrounds with layers of paint. The fish just happened because of the background colour. Reminded me of fresh water.

Wish you all the best.

Some different journalpages.

My artsy friend was visiting again.

The right page was made sitting together with my friend. It feels a bit overloaded but still me. Summery colours and a light atmosphere.

The left side was painted later on and finished late the same evening. It looks a bit unfinished but I can't do any more on it. I like the colours so much and the whole picture really need to be "silent".
What do you think?
I don't know what it means but the women have covered their faces so it has to be some of our new citizents. Almost like they are trying to be invisible. Looks peaceful to me.

The left page is so fun to look at, it is so influenced by my friend who was visiting the day before. There is some of her spirit in it. Right page was just something I made after playing some dogs. It was there before I really got to think what to do. So these are some of the pages I've been doing this weekend.

Today I was going to bike again but it was pouring down this morning so we decided to try tomorrow. That way I continued painting and still am.
Wish you all the best.

Sandra is doing great.

Sandra had done a few pages at home this time. I really like what she has been doing, especially her sun is nice and that page is not influenced by me. That's Sandras own voice. I spoke to her about that, to make her own things instead of making "copys" and she seemed to understand what I was trying to say.

We have been journaling this weekend too and it's very nice to sit together doing it.
Yesterday we were out to buy Sandra a new white pen that she had saved money for. That way she will be careful about her equipment. And sooooo proud.

Here is the spread with the sun. That is so Sandra and even much nicer to see in person. In the other page she has used a scrap she was given from a friend of mine. You can see the mouth and blue part. I was curious to see how she would use it. The headline she found in a magazine and cut it out. She said to me: this is a nice text that I will use. It says: FREEDOM AND SAFETY.
I was quite surprised for her choice but I think she thought it over before using it, and we talked about what it ment for her. She is the little one but not that small after all.

It's such a pleasure to have her here and we are learning from each other.
Well, that's all for now I'm off to make some more bracelets.
Wish you all the best.

Want to see my bracelets?

These are so fun to make.

I promised to be back showing them off, and here they are. I really enjoy doing these. I had a friend here to see them and she spoke for two of them at once. They are made of cotton yarn and beads. There are thousands of possibilities when talking of colour combos. It's just to choose.
The photo below shows all that I've made.

This photo shows the first ones that I made and the ones I like the best. They are so nice when the sun shines and the tiny beads are reflecting the light.

The last photo shows what I've been doing the last couple of days. These are slightly different. I read from a blog that one could use the plastic beads (for kids) put them in the owen and melt them down. That's what I've done here, and they are so fun to play with. The owen should hold 200 deg. (same temperature as when baking a cake) and one minute is the time. Be sure that the beads have a little space in between them. They "grow" a bit when melting.

Good luck if you are going into the meltingbusiness, but be aware it's done in a hurry. Don't leave the owen!!
Enjoy your weekend, Sandra and I are journaling.

Wow, 26 deg. and sunny.

I had a really nice summerday yesterday.

26 deg. (78.8 F) is nice and warm here. The sun shining all day and a short but heavy rainshower in the afternoon. A perfect day and I was inspired to work outdoors all day. I brought some hooks and a bag of yarn and let my imagination lead the way.

Oh, I can't tell you how I appreciated yesterday. I'll show you some butterflys I made and when I should photograph them I used double sided tape. (not so smart though because I remowed some of the paint from the wall)

Later on I tried to make some bracelets but was not satisfied with my first two. Then I made one that I liked and I just have to develop it a bit more. Looks great in my opinion. I'll show you one of the first days.
Now I'm headed out again, looks that we're going to have another nice day. I just love it.
Wish you all the best.

Playing with colours again.

At last I've had some fun with my colours again.

The face below I did a while ago. The drawing is not bad but I need to practise the colouring job. How do you colour your faces (drawn that is)? Do you use paint, crayons or markers? At this one I used markers but I need to practise on using them. The hair is not easy to draw so I chose the easy way. Her scull was so clearly drawn that her headscarf is a bit misplaced. I love drawing faces though so I'll be there sooner or later.

Here I've been playing with some of my stamps. I really like the littel fairy. The boy looks a bit like a Christmas image to me but he is cute as well. It could have been fun trying to carve my own stamps, but that'll have to wait a bit.

I'm so tired of waiting for summer that I thought I would paint it. Today the weather is very close to warm, so I'll probably be outside doing some gardening. One of my neighbours has a lot of rose bushes and they smell like heaven right now. Isn't that lovely, to go outside and sense the smell of roses in the air?

Late last night I was going to paint some sheets with watercolour to use as backgrounds. But before I knew what was happening this one was filled with "ghosts" or whatever they are. Isn't that amazing when things just happens? That's what I like the most. When I try to plan things it seems like I'm bound in some sort of way. Do you prefer to plan your artwork?

Well friends, that's all for now. I'm off to spend my day outside. And thanks a lot for visiting and commenting. I really appreciate it all. My June stats almost blew me away. So again, thanks to each and everyone of you.

It's just sewing these days.

My fabric piles are decreasing.

I've really been using fabrics lately. The sewingmachine is in use all the time. And I'm enjoying it too. I haven't decide wether to start my own online shop but right now I don't think it's time. Better be in August since July is summer holiday time here.
This dress I made using some delicate cotton fabric. The pink decor is easy to remove if that's wanted. The size is 4 to 6 years I believe. Several of the girls in my family could use this one, if I decide not opening a shop.

I'm still practising drawing faces but I don't feel I get the grip of it. Won't stopp though. Well, the drawing isn't that bad but I feel it's difficult colouring it. I'm playing a bit with some stamps too and that's fun. I'll post some of it soon.

Have a nice week everyone.
