An interesting week

This week I finally did something I have thought of doing for a long time.

I made myself a gelliplate. It was easy to make and it works fine.  In the photo it's covered in plastic wrap.

I have made some prints and now I just need to plan a bit before doing more of them. It's fun and very addictive. Well I guess you all know this, I'm just a bit late in trying it.

I also had a good helper, little Lucas was allowed to pick which colors to use, and he loved touching the plate, without the paint on it. It feels cold and sticky. He even wanted to stand on it to feel it's surface against his feet. Later on we had some tower building to do, as you see in the photo.

Lucas is such a good and fun boy. He has been sick this week, and he stops eating, so we had to come up with some interesting new ways to eat. He loves fruits, so I cut then in small pieces and let him have a stick (close to a toothpick) to eat with. That was what it took to make him eat, and he even asked for more.

Now, last week I had a giveaway here, and boy was I surprised to see how many people who actually had room for one more piece of art. Thank you all for participating in this fun event. I'm very happy to give these three pieces away, and I ask the winners to e-mail me or leave a comment with their mail addresses. The comment with the address  will of course not be published.

The winners are:
#1 cozydoodle and she chose  #1 - the stack of cups.

#2 Nicole Beadwright Campancella she went for #6 - sunflower and insect.

#3 EAGHL (granny annie) #9 - the face.

Now I'm off to do some washing in my kitchen, tedious work but it needs to be done. I'm linking to Paint Party Friday. Happy PPF to all of you.

I've been doodling again.

I've seen some people doodling on shoes and tote bags lately,

so I had to give it a go. I didn't have any of the items, but lots and lots of fabric, so I found some meant for lining curtains and used that. I had to buy some fabric markers, and get started.

I didn't plan anything, so this is wonky and not usable as I see it. I've left it as is, and won't be using it.

Next try I planned a bit more, and I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out.

It's a case for my eye glasses. They're fun to make, easy and quick done.
It was kind of hard to know how close to the lines I should put the color down, because the markers bleed a bit. I did make a drwaing on paper first, so I have the patterns and can easily make the same over again.

I had to try even one more time, but I'm not sure I should have. I don't know where my mind was while drawing this, but apparently it was not with me.

I should at least have mirrored the right side flowers, but this is how they are. Drawing with micron pen on top of the fabric. My pencil drawing shines through, so it was easy to transfere it.

Below is how it looked after coloring.

Next two photos shows the finished case. First I sewed a row of buttonhole stitches and then I crochet it together. Easy as that.

Fun project, easy to make and I have a case for my eye glasses that nobody else have. We can't ask for more, can we?
I'll share this with Paint Party Friday.
Thanks for visiting.

Mandala fun.

Yesterday evening I was reading some blogs of friends,

and found this super cute idea. Make a mandala and turn it into a bird. I had to try this first thing this morning, so I used a copy mashine paper just for the test.

How cute is that?? Now, remember, this is just my first test. Neocolors 2 is used for coloring, but I can imagine how beautiful it will become with using twinks. I highly recommend you to have a look at Stefani's blog to see and read how to make these birds. She did them a little different from what I did.

I'll have to make a few of these to have in our garden house, and how cool wouldn't it be to hang them in the trees in the garden. The possibillities are endless.

Guess what I'm going to do today??
Thanks for visiting, I hope you enjoyed it!

Something new.

I bought myself a new cell phone yesterday.

That means alot of work to figure out how to use it and how everything works, and if I dislike anything, that's it. So to cheer myself up a bit I sat down today and made some bags to carry it in, and that's a whole different cup of tea. I love making such small things, and I love all the colors too. I asked handyman what he thought about them and all he said was: hmf...... Too much color for him.

I think I'll make one or two more, always fun to have something to choose from. We've had such a cold day here today so staying indoors making something fun was just the right thing for me.

I hope you are having a fun day too!

Finally some paint on my fingers again!

Making my own tags.

I've had some good days now wrapping gifts. I ended up making my own tags this year and I had lots of fun doing so.
They are easy to make out of empty toiletpaper tubes. I have this little tool to cut out my tags and then I gessoed them before painting and writing.
The hardest thing was to get the "eye" sentered, but they are quite charming with the "eye" a bit out of center too.
To make the tags I start to cut the tubes and water (spray) them to get them flat. Then they need to dry before cutting and painting.

Now I want to share with you some of my favorite Christmas drawings/ paintings ever. They are created by a Norwegian named Anders Midthun.
These images are so "Christmasy" to me and I never get bored looking at them. Do you have any favorites for Christmas?
I hope you all are doing well and that you're not too stressed.

Finally I wish you all a Merry Christmas or should I say Happy Christmas or even Happy holidays. I've been reading that there are some discussions on how to put the greetings. In any case mine are heartfelt and well ment.
Take good care!!

Finally done.

Hello everyone.

I have finally finished the handbag for my friend. I ended up making more beads, and as I expected they look quite different. It doesen't show that much in the photo and I trust it won't when in use either. But for me looking at them, they are way to different. I'll give her the things tomorrow and I'll ask her then what she think. Hopefully she will like it as it is.

Tomorrow evening I'm going to meet my crafty friends in our club. First time this season. I'm really looking forward to meet with them again. There are a lot of so called sewing clubs and the one thing they don't do is to sew. We actually do, and it's so inspiring to see what the others do and which tecnique they use. Some are knitting, some embroider, some are crocheting and some are finishing their stuff. And we can help advice each other.

I've just started a new project so I'll probably do that. I'll write more about it and show you in another post. Not much baking today, but tomorrow I will.

Take care and have a nice evening.

Yes, I think this will be good.

Remember my paperbeads?

I've finished the necklace I was making for my friend which she is going to use in her sons wedding. I'm not sure the photos shows how special it really is, but my friend loved it at once.
I was hopeing for a special lock, but I couldn't get hold of anything else than an ordinary one.

When the necklace was done I had 13 more beads and they are going to decorate her clutch. The photo below shows the necklace hanging as it will on her.

Below you can see it lying flat. When I look at it each bead seem like a little piece of art and the colours are stunning. In a distance it doesen't "shout", it's important that the rest of the party register my friend and not only her necklace.

This necklace is made of the smallest beads, and they are absolutely the most suitable for this purpose.
I showed my friend the necklace last night and I can't nothing but smile when I think of her reaction to it. She was all smiles.
Her dress is black so she felt for adding some colour, and colour it will be.

I've made the small decor-piece but as I see it there is a minor problem. The photo below shows one of my clutches and the piece on top. I feel this would work well, the sizes are well adjusted.
What do you think? I would love some feedback on this issue, please.

This is the handbag my friend intends to use, it's a really nice piece of work and suits her well but this one is a bit too big to my decor-piece, don't you think?
Of course I'm going to ask her opinion, and if she like she can use my clutch.
I could have made some more beads, but it's very difficult to get them right. The colours would never be of the same "soul" as the ones already made.

That was all for today, have a nice day everyone!

Have you ever done this?

Good morning out there.

One day I had painted some papers for use in my artjournal, the colours reminded me of something I did (or was trying to do) as a child. I wanted to make paper-beads back then, but I had nothing to use doing it. Just a newspaper, and my glue was made of flour and water. No wonder it went wrong.

As I saw my papers the other day I thought of this childhood try and the idea started to roll. Now I've made quite a few beads, and now they look like what I had in my dreams as a child.
It's not a new idea, and I'm sure many of you have been doing this but it's fun anyway.

The real reason for doing this was that a friend of mine is going to have her son married in a few months, and she needed something colourful to match her dress. That's what made me think of these beads.
Now I've made a few different sizes and and I clearly see that the smallest one are the best if I'm going to make some "jewelery". The largest are the nicest to look at but they are difficult to use because of the size, at least for my purpose.

The photo below shows the different beads and sizes. The largest one is 3 cm across (1.2 inch) and the lenght of the paper used is the shortest lenght of an A-4 sheet.
The next two beads are 2 cm across (0.8 inch) I was very exited when I tried to make the black and white one. I was not sure I could do it but as you see I could.
The last two beads are 1.5 cm across (0.6 inch) These are the ones I think will work the best for my purpose.
I'm looking for the right material to combine with the beads, and it has to look great as well.

The last photo shows some small items I've made just as tries to see if it's possible at all. It was when I did these things I learnt that the largest beads is not that useful for this purpose.

Today I'm going to experiment using the smallest ones. I might come up with something smart at the end.

Take care everyone.
